Dear Homeowners,
We will be experiencing extremely cold temperatures in the coming days. When the temperatures drop well below freezing, there is an increased risk of pipes freezing and bursting.
In order to help prevent pipes from freezing, please take the following actions:
- Make sure your heat is turned ON (set to at least 60 degrees).
- Allow water (both hot & cold) to slowly drip on all interior faucets.
- Open cabinet doors underneath sinks. This will allow the warmer air to circulate through the cabinets, thus reducing the risk of frozen pipes.
- Cover any exterior water spigots and disconnect garden hoses.
Homeowners are also encouraged to locate their water shut-off valves. In the event of a water leak, it is imperative that the water to your property be turned off immediately.
If you will be away from home during the extremely cold temperatures, please consider leaving a key with a trusted neighbor or in a lockbox in case of an emergency.
Thank you.
